Apologies for my absence bloggers! I barely remember my last blog, it’s been so long but things have been incredibly hectic – I’ll blog on that more in a couple of weeks though.

Since last post, so much has happened. I went on a very successful writers retreat to Halls Gap. We rented a house, each prepared a meal for the group, and spent a wonderful weekend draped or curled in various corners of the house writing our works in progress. It gave me a huge boost forward and I’m very much looking forward to the next one.

Second is that I’m nearing the end of the book. This is very exciting, and will be ready to send off very soon I hope. I’ll talk more when it’s done – I’m pretty superstitious about jinxing myself!

There’s exciting stuff happening over at Kill Your Darlings, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’ll post more on that very soon. Have a think about your favourite Aussie YA title and what YA means to you, and join in on the fun over at their site!

And I’ve been reading (not as much as I would have liked, but getting there). An outstanding book – The Interrogation of Ashala Wolf is definitely one of my favourites of late. I’m reviewing that for the Australian Book Review, so keep an eye out for the full review there. And if you have the chance to get your hands on a copy then make sure you do. The other was Everything Left Unsaid which I’ll review in full on here within the next few days. It’s pretty sad (I was crying for quite some time while I read it) but is one of many great new titles celebrating gritty realism rather than sparkly vampire romance.

So lots to tell you, and looking forward to hearing what’s been happening out there on the interwebs while I’ve been gone!
